Inauguration of G. Divakaran Pillai Memorial Building.
It's in 1929, the Yugoslavian native Agnus, who is now popularly known as Mother Teresa
reached India. It is she who is Known as the mother of the poor and needy, who was the
inspiration for initiating palliative care activities in Ochira, hence named after her.
Divakaran Pillai was born to Iswariamma and Goplapillai of Njarakkattu Thekkethil house,
a prominent family in Payikuzhi near Ochira. He completed his primary education from
Ochira Govt school and RVSM High School in Prayar. He retired from his official life as a
Checking Inspector in KSRTC. He left the world in 2021 July 10. As a commemoration to
his loving memories, his family handed over a building in 6.5 cents of land. His wife, J.
Sarojiniamma Teacher laid the foundational stone.
- Divakaran Pillai has been the branch secretary of CPI(M), along with being the village
committee member of the Karshaka Sangham. He also offered his valuable contributions
as the NSS Karayogam Secretary as well as the Secretary of Valiyakulangara Devaswom.
He was also the President of the Ksheera Sangham of Ochira. Throughout all these he was
committed to the well being of his land and people. He has three children, Sindgu, Bindhu
and Binu. Jayakumar who was the District Judge, R. Nandakumar are his sons in law and
Mrs. Sangeetha is his daughter in law.
- During the inauguration ceremony held on July 10 th 2022, The Mother Teresa Palliative
care president, PB Satyadevan delivered the presidential address. Hon Finance Minister
Govt of Kerala, Shri K N Balagopalan inaugurated the building, Shri Innocent, Former
Member of LoSabha and Filim actor distributed the Palliative support. The key handing
over was done by S D Binu, Managing Director, Merit Group of Companies, Kuwiat, Dubai
and US to Hon’ble Finance Minister.
Wishes for the organization under the name of Saint Teresa, the lamp post for the poor
and needy.
